Fall season
The Fall season begins two weeks before school starts. Check this site for announcements. All new and returning rowers must register through the PHS Athletic Dept BEFORE you can attend practice (see below, or our Fall Registration page for complete details).
Spring season
It is best to join crew in the fall but please see the Spring Tryout Page for details on spring participation. Pioneer crew is a varsity sport in the spring.
How to Register for Crew
Registration for Crew must be done through the athletic office. Online instructions and forms are available HERE. You will not be able to participate until all 3 registration steps described on that page are completed correctly:
- Online Registration
- Payment of Fees
- Physical
NOTE: As of the 2013-14 school year there is a $250 Rec&Ed “Pay to Participate” fee covering all sports for the year. Crew is a club sport in the fall season so the fee does not apply until spring.
How to Contact the Athletic Office about registration
You may phone the Athletic Department office at 994-2151 between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM during the week. Phone lines may frequently be busy during the registration period, so please be patient.
Information about Physicals
Low-cost physical examinations will be available in early August at Pioneer High School. Please check with the Athletic Office for the exact date, time, and location. The cost of the physical is approximately $30 per student.
Students may seek their own physician for a physical any time after April 15 of the previous school year.
