Pioneer Crew

Team Uniforms

Upperclass athletes are strongly urged to purchase their own team unisuit. These will be ordered through the team during the FIRST TWO WEEKS of practice at a price of about $65-70. This is the only time during the season to get your uni, so make sure you see the HEAD COACH to order.

Unitanks will be issued to the remaining members of the team and ALL NOVICES at the club's expense. These will be worn at regattas with black trou (rowing shorts) purchased individually by rowers (see below).  At the end of the season the unitanks are required to be returned to the coach.

Accessory Clothing
In the early spring and late fall, weather conditions are frequently less than pleasant, but rowing will still continue. We strongly urge that rowing tights and Coolmax long sleeve shirts be purchased for racing. These are optional at regattas, but if worn, tights must be black and tops must be white for girls and black for boys to match the unisuits/tanks.  Any athletic tights or long sleeve top may be worn during practice.

Rowers will need rowing trou every day of practice.  It is advisable to own more than one pair.  The links below are what we require for racing, but not necessarily for daily use.

Additional Team Clothing

All clothing other than the above will be ordered through the CLOTHING COORDINATOR during the first two weeks of each season.  The available clothing, jackets, caps and duffle bags are totally optional and are not part of the official uniform, but are certainly very functional, warm and fun to wear!  All gear has the Pioneer Crew logo on it, so when worn it's easy to recognize other Pioneer rowers and parents. 

Boathouse™ Jackets 
We recommend that rowers have crew jackets to wear at regattas and on the water as protection from rain and wind. There are two styles to choose from, a Gor-Tex version which is more water repellent and runs around $170, and a Supplex version which is less substantial and also less expensive at $70. The jackets are on the order form that the CLOTHING COORDINATOR emails out to rowers and parents the first two weeks of practice and must be ordered on this form to insure team discount and proper logo.  For photos and sizing click on the links below:

Booster Apparel

T-shirts, fleeces, jackets and hats are also available for the parents. These clothes are generally available at regattas or can be special ordered at various times during the season as organized by the parent boosters.
