This is the ballad of Argo Dam
We sure ought to keep it if we can
There it sits, as good as new
built in 1972

Now Argo Pond depends on that ol’ dam
years ago, it’s a place where people swam
the sweetest water to paddle ‘round
it runs right through the heart of town
this jewel needs our protection
(young & old, please take hold!)

        we paddle, we fish
        we row
        we bird, we disc
        we grow...

Now there are some who take a different view
they’d like to tear this precious dam in two
Now we’re not here to criticize
we only wish they’d open their eyes
THE ARGO DAM IS NOT FAILING!
(we all know, it just ain’t so)
